Parquet Courts on paper

601

Beck’s not the only one releasing new material as sheet-music only. The new single by Brooklyn band Parquet Courts requires you to play the thing yourself—at least until Record Store (April 19), when it will be released as part of, um, a 7-inch vinyl record. Relax, Parquet Courts will evolve to CDs or digital tunes someday. What’s cool about the sheet music, you’ll notice, is that this song doesn’t really have a melody, just a bunch of repetitive chords.
